Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a computer program designed to test students’ comprehension of books. The student reads a book, then takes a computer generated test. The student is given immediate feedback on the results of the test. He or she earns points for tests that are passed. The students receive rewards such as extra gym or recess and end-of-the-year parties for earning points to reach a goal set by his or her teacher.

We have documented that there has been a steady increase in reading comprehension scores on the SAT-10 test since we implemented Accelerated Reader.

The Accelerated Reader list below is listed by author in alphabetical order. The list contains the name of the author, the title of the book, the reading level of the book, and the points possible for the book.
